"New England Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard was found guilty Wednesday on charges of assaulting an officer and resisting arrest for an incident that took place near a Lincoln, Neb., bar in April 2012, the Lincoln Journal Star and Omaha World-Herald have reported. Sentencing for the case will be April 11. Dennard's felony conviction for assaulting an officer carries a maximum sentence of five years in jail and up to a $10,000 fine, according to the World-Herald (ESPN)."
I am assuming he isn't going to get 5 years in jail for this, but I would also assume he is going to at least do a little bit of time (usually 0-180 days), a fine, community service, AND be suspended a couple games by the NFL. If you can remember back this is the same guy that got in a fight before the NFL draft, which caused him to drop to the 7th round. He has been cleared of those charges, but obviously this is not a good sign for this kid.
He had 3 INTs last year, and looked set to have a spot with the Patriots. Even after this I would be surprised if he was cut, as the Patriots need all the CB help they can get.
I know where this is going, and DP will start screaming about why I am not making a bigger deal out of this like Ray Lewis and Terrell "I throw bleach on babies" Suggs, but it's pretty simple. I don't listen to this guy preach, or speak about God, or tell me how I'm supposed to live. So yes he is a terrible person that should pay the price for what he did, but he's not a hypocrite that I have to watch on TV every day.
And yea, you're damn right I'm biased.

We'll have to see what the sentence is, but hopefully this isn't the end of Dennard's career. He seemed to be a solid corner on the field and invisible off of it while in a Patriots uniform.
He has been cleared of those charges.... didn't he just get in trouble?
I'm not going to say anything about Patriot fans being hypocritical, because that's just knowledge everyone knows.
It's weird that as much as Ray Lewis was involved with the murder, he still has cleaner rings than Brady and Belichick have.
"It's weird that as much as Ray Lewis was involved with the murder, he still has cleaner rings than Brady and Belichick have."
Yeah, because banned PEDs have never tarnished a Super Bowl ring?
What I was talking about were the other charges...
"Dennard was found not guilty in a Lancaster County Court on charges of assaulting a Lincoln man."
I can't imagine he gets suspended considering the incident happened before he was in the NFL
thats actually a good point, I didn't think of that.
Only DP could take a story about a CB assaulting a cop and find a way to connect it to SpyGate.
This is just another example of why the Patriots need to blow things up. Get rid of Belichick and his cocky ways which have become a detriment to the team.
Robert Kraft has a choice to make. He can allow the organization to become the pathetic Oakland Raiders under Al Davis. On the positive side it's not the owner who is the problem it's the coach. If Kraft is smart he'll do the right thing. If not he'll let the new Al Davis (Bill Belichick) keep control a drive this team into the dirt.
It's funny, I can't think of anybody more un-Al Davis than Bill Belichick. He's as far opposed to the "Just Win Baby" philosophy the Raiders have used to guide their organization as possible. Bill likes to store up draft picks, pull undrafted guys off the scrap heap and won't break the bank for anybody. The Raiders like to sell off their future picks for high profile free agents and then pay them a mint to keep them. Bill does like his reclamation projects, but he doesn't let them run wild. He usually puts himself in a no-lose position where he can cut a problematic/unproductive player easily. It's worth noting that since he was drafted, I haven't heard anything about Dennard having any new off-field issues whatsoever.
Where do you get off saying that Bill is driving this team into the dirt Anonymous?
"Under Belichick, the Patriots have gone 139–53–0 in 12 seasons. Belichick is far and away the winningest coach in Patriots history; his 139 wins with the franchise are more than double those of runner-up Mike Holovak. He also sports a 17–7 record in the playoffs with New England, and 3–2 in Super Bowls. Belichick has led the Patriots to eight division titles, including five consecutive titles from 2003 to 2007 (and only missed the playoffs on tiebreakers in 2002 and 2008). The Patriots have also defeated each regular season MVP they have faced in that year's playoffs (Kurt Warner in Super Bowl XXXVI, Peyton Manning and Steve McNair after the 2003 season, Manning in 2004, LaDainian Tomlinson in 2006)."
Anonymous, you're pulling this Raiders comparison out of your ass and you look stupid.
