So Manti Te'o Obviously Is A Gay, Right?

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

But it's obvious that this is a complete gay cover up thing. He knew he was going to be an NFL prospect, and I assume that NFL and football locker rooms are least tolerant when it comes to the gays, so he made up this girlfriend thing and hid behind his religion so he could bang dudes.

Where he screwed up is that his plan was too elaborate and then he found himself in the midst of lying on top of lies. He could have just pawned it off as he was in a long distance relationship and blah, blah, blah. The dying thing is where he went wrong, because you know the whole Google thing is pretty good at finding things.

It's kind of crazy how out of control this thing is and is going to get. his former teammates are already selling him down the river saying he played the whole thing up and they didn't believe he had a girlfriend the whole time.

His best play right now is to come out of the closet and say he is gay and was afraid to go public with it because of the ridicule and his religion. That way he can still play the sympathy card and I bet he would gain most support from that.

There feels like much more to this story.

He and the school, a Mormon man and a Catholic institution, both lied. And lied repeatedly.

He could have told reporters before interviews "I don't want to discuss my girlfriend" and avoided the subject completely. Instead, he continued to talk about it and get sympathy he didn't deserve.

Also, Deadspin>ESPN. Good job, Deadspin.
