I heard it from an inside source that Stevan Ridley, is going to go the way of Jahvid Best and not play football for a real long time, maybe even his career, his concussion is so severe. This source that I heard this from was the same one who knew about the Dice K Tommy John surgery too, that's why were the first to report that as well.
It wouldn't surprise me if that Bernard Pollard play was the last play we ever see Ridley in a Patriots uniform. Ridley got that stretched arm thing going on and obviously lost consciousness. Apparently the grade 3 concussion is so severe he may have to walk away from the sport or at least not play a year or 2.
This sucks because he was turning into a really good running back and to have his career be held up at such a young age just blows. At least the Patriots have Vareen back there as a back up, I'm not sure if he can handle the full time duties, but I guess we are going to have to find out.

No way, he will be fine
I really hope this isn't true. It's not that Ridley is this amazing irreplaceable back like Adrian Peterson or something, but he was solid.
Trust me it is, and then dickheads like Adam Scheffler will steal this and claim they found out first.
it does suck for the patriots, but hopefully this won't affect him for long period of time in his everyday life.
was robert edwards' career as promising as ridley looked this year?
Ridley's numbers this season were very comparable to Robert Edwards' one and only season as a Patriot.
Edwards 1998 Rushing Stats
16 GP 291 ATT 1115 Yards 9 TD
Ridley 2012 Rushing Stats
16 GP 290 ATT 1263 Yards 12 TD
Ridley's rushing numbers look a little better, but Edwards made up a lot of ground in the pass catching game.
Edwards 1998 Rec Stats
35 Rec 331 Yards 3 TD
Ridley 2012 Rec Stats
6 Rec 51 Yards 0 TD
I would say that Edwards looked more promising given that it was his rookie season, Ridley's currently in his second season, and the fact that expectations were higher for Edwards given that he was the 18th overall pick. Ridley has already surpassed expectations I would have of a running back taken in the 3rd round 73rd overall.
thanks, mike. that is some bad luck if ridley is done for good.
