We can put this in the category of, yea he's most likely right, but why say it?
All-Star first baseman Prince Fielder confirmed Wednesday what Milwaukee Brewers fans have feared -- that this season is "probably the last year" with the Brewers.
Fielder, in an interview with TBS, said, "I'm signed for this year, but being real about it, it is probably the last year (ESPN)."
The Brewers are currently 5.5 games about the Cardinals for 1st place in the NL Central, so most likely they are going to the playoffs. Why make this comment now? It just seems stupid to me to make any kind of comment that could become a distraction. We all know Fielder is going to move on after this year, but that is meaningless right now, what matters is winning. To me, this was just stupid.
