95 Celtics, 89 Cavs

I got a little scared when the game started out 13-2 in Cleveland's favor, but in the back of my mind I always thought the Celtics were going to win. In the first quarter it looked as if LeBron and Shaq were going to be unstoppable, but Shaq disappeared in the second half only scoring 2 points. (He scored 10 in the game) Paul Pierce scored 23 points, Ray Allen 16, Kevin Garnett 13, Rasheed had 12, and Rajon had 10 assists, but the bench may have been the most impressive unit last night. When they were in the Celtics didn't miss a beat. Marquis Daniels (He also has a tattoo on his arm with a guy blowing his brains out with a shotgun and pulling the trigger with his toe, that says only the strong survive) did an excellent job defending and gelling with the second unit, he finished with 7 points, and 2 assists. But when it came down to the end of the game Paul Pierce became the truth and made two crucial jumpers and two free throws in the final 1:03. As for the minutes with the big three it was Ray (42), Pierce (38) and KG (33). It was necessary to win this game, but I hope it doesn't become a trend.

Final thought:
I believe this was a measuring stick in the East on how good Boston actually is. Cleveland won its first 24 games at home, but now they start 0-1.

That's freakin awesome. I love Quiesy. The Celtics should have blown out the Cavs. The Cavs looked like they needed another month of training camp.

I just didn't get the Cavs gameplan. Shaq was dominating underneath early in the game, and they got away from that. Then Lebron goes off, and there for be 4-5 mins straight without the ball in his hands. Just seemed very odd to me.

I don't like Perk very much, but he had a hell of a game last night defensively.

How could you not like Perk? Perk is one of the best defensive centers in the NBA. He also is starting to develop a short to midrange shot. I think he is easily better then 85% of the centers in the league (including your boy Bynum)

I just never really like him. I don't think he is bad, just don't like him. Complete bias, and Bynum is not my boy.

Yea, the Cleveland scheme needs a lot of work. The give it to LeBron and get out of the way offense, is not going to cut it against great defenses.

i'd like to take a shotgun to the face of Mo Williams. something about that guy just flat-out BOTHERS me. that ridiculous cocky swagger that he carries is completely unwarranted, especially for a guy who all but disappeared in the playoffs last season.

don't get me wrong, i absolutely DETEST lebron james, but i completely respect his athletic ability (a la Kobe, A-Rod, Peyton, etc.) but i counted more than 5 posessions where Williams would come off a high screen and just jack up a poor 3-pt attempt, usually with around 19-15 seconds left on the shot clock...how you don't run EVERY SINGLE offensive posession through the hands of Lebron at some point, points to 2 things: poor coaching (which is a small example of Mike Brown being the single most OVERRATED coach in the league) and poor play from your PG.

long story short, Mo Williams sucks, Lebron's a bitch, Rasheed's afro rules, GO CELTICS!

I think Mike Brown has yet to coach.
